This is one of the best sport touring bikes ever offered for the money when compared to the competition and level of performance you are getting for the massive amount of depreciation these bikes have went through after their first decade in service. You are getting what was the pinnacle of German engineering and build quality at the time with typical Teutonic styling for literally a fraction of the price of one new. The chassis and engine in these bikes have a proven track record of being 100% bulletproof and capable of racking up autobahn levels of mileage with next to nothing but oil changes. The Bosch electronics suite on BMW motorrad vehicles of the past 2 decades have been known to be slightly less reliable than their hand forged German hard parts but they are still some of the best in the business and as long as a little trepidation of the failure of a superfluous component doesn't bother you these bikes can be an excellent value to be had for pennies on the dollar when compared to their Japanese competition.
